Every artist has people behind the scenes who make their dreams possible — the ones who believe, invest, and help bring things to life faster than you can even plan them. For me, one of those blessings has been the Historic Florence Foundation.
Each year, they’ve invited me to perform at the Florence Jr. Parada Rodeo, one of the oldest youth rodeos in the country. What started as a local gig has turned into a meaningful partnership built on community, heritage, and heart. I’m honored to be back again this year on Saturday, November 29th, performing live at the Charles Whitlow Rodeo Arena in Florence, Arizona.
The Mission That Drives Them
The Historic Florence Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Florence’s rich Western history while helping the next generation stay connected to its roots. Their mission focuses on educating the public about Florence’s heritage and supporting youth rodeo programs — teaching kids about hard work, responsibility, and tradition through the sport of rodeo.
They don’t just host events — they build bridges between the past and the present, giving both locals and visitors a real sense of what small-town Arizona pride feels like.
Why Their Support Means So Much
Every time I step onto that Jr. Parada stage, I’m reminded how powerful community can be. The Florence Foundation has given me a platform to grow my music and connect with fans who value the same things I do — faith, family, and country roots.
I’ll never forget one particular night at the rodeo. As the show kicked off, the crowd was thin — just a handful of folks near the stage. But as we started playing, I noticed people slowly gathering. Off in the distance, I could see campfires lighting up the rodeo grounds, and before long, music carried across the night.
Then something happened that stopped me in my tracks — song requests started coming in from way out in the campground, people calling out from the dark, singing along from their own little corners of the rodeo. That’s when it hit me — this wasn’t just a show, it was a shared experience. It was Florence at its finest: real people, real connection, real country.
A Special Thanks to Bill Whitlow and Breyana Long
I also want to take a moment to recognize Bill Whitlow and Breyana Long, two incredible people who make the wheels — literally — turn for artists like me.
When I reached out to the foundation about needing a trailer for touring, Breyana made things happen fast. Within 24 hours, she had me connected with Bill, and before I knew it, I was getting set up and ready to hit the road. That kind of speed, care, and dedication is rare — and it speaks volumes about the kind of people they are.
Bill went above and beyond, personally sponsoring my band with a trailer so we could tour across the West. That trailer isn’t just a piece of equipment — it’s a symbol of belief and support. Every mile we drive, every stage we play, we carry a piece of Florence with us, thanks to Bill’s generosity and Breyana’s commitment.
Family, Faith, and Florence
Over the years, this foundation hasn’t just supported my career — they’ve embraced my family. One of the most special moments for us was when they welcomed my daughter into the Jr. Royalty. That gesture meant more than words can say.
